DIY Ceramic Tile Polaroids

A few weeks after Teddy was born we did a little family photoshoot with Katrina Ferguson ❤️ We had so many gorgeous photos but only a few of them ended up on our photo wall (for that project check out my ‘diy decor’ highlight). I wanted to find a way to display a number of them without taking up lots of space.

A while back I stumbled on a website called Dr Decal & Mr Hyde when I was trying to work out how to make custom temporary tattoos for Lachy’s upcoming birthday 😂 On it, they had this awesome product called Waterslide Decal Paper - it works a lot like a temporary tattoo, where you wet the paper and a clear plastic film slides off. But on the website, they showed how it could be used on many different types of surfaces (wood, ceramic, glass, plastic etc). Of course this got me thinking about how I could use it for a project, which is how I ended up with these tiles. It’s really easy to use - and the best part is that you can print on the paper using your home printer (ink or laser) 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love that you can see the terracotta on the side of the tiles and also how they sit out from the wall. You could write on the blank white space like a Polaroid too if you want.
