DIY Easter Bunny Plate

I love creating the magic of Easter for our kids - mostly because I have such happy memories of my own from Easter growing up. I can still remember the excitement of the egg hunts, finding bunny footprints in our cubby house and our little handmade baskets.

Today I’ll show you how to make your own carrot plate just like this one (no special decals required!) I’ll also be giving away a carrot plate and bunny footprint set (details in my next post!)

Needed:

Carrot Plate:

  • Easter Egg Cup and Bunny Soldiers Board $15 Target Australia (this is what we’ll be decorating and using as our carrot plate
  • 6B lead pencil (I got an 8pk set of Sketching Pencils from Kmart Australia. You could buy a single 6B pencil from Officeworks for $1.04)
  • White Posca Pen 0.7mm $3.98 Officeworks
  • My ‘Carrot Plate’ design - download it free here
  • Printer (to print the design)
  • 1 sheet of A4 white printer paper
  • Scissors
  • Sticky Tape

Bunny Prints:

  • My ‘Bunny Prints’ design - download it free here
  • Printer
  • A4 sheet of cardboard (if you haven’t got any, you could cut a piece from a cereal box or similar)
  • Flour (or if you’re short on flour you could use icing sugar or cocoa - just beware of ants if you’ve got them). Alternatively you could use chalk (if outside on pavement or decking) or a white liquid chalk marker (on polished floorboards).
  • Sieve (if using flour, icing sugar or cocoa)
  • Spoon
  • Scissors

Other accessories:

  • Carrots sliced into sticks for your carrot plate. Remove most for the morning and leave a few “chewed” pieces around your plate
  • Chocolate bits or sultanas for rabbit ‘droppings’
