DIY Mother's Day Hug Pillow

This is a super simple + sweet present for a mum or a grandmother this Mother’s Day ❤️

I originally saw this idea on Pinterest from the Ducklings In a Row blog ❤️ In the original post she placed one set of hands from each child on either side of the cushion. Instead I kept them all on one side, as I thought they looked really sweet together - plus I figured there’s also the option to have a plain side on display.

To be fair, tracing Ted’s arm was a bit of a mission 🤣 But you only need to trace one, then you can use that as a template for tracing a second other arm (check out my story for more on this 👆🏻)

Needed:

From Spotlight:

  • A large cushion. Mine is the 50cm x 50cm Rapee Piper Cushion in Pink $31
  • Felt. I bought 0.5m each in cream and pink (you could definitely get less - I think .25m would do for each based on the roll width but depends on how many arms you want to do). $4.99 each type based on the length ordered.

Other:

  • A hot glue gun
  • A pen or pencil (I used both, my pencil was a 4B)
  • Scissors
  • Optional (if you want to personalise with letters and the year): access to a printer plus an A4 piece of print paper.
